1. Can counseling really make a difference in my relationships?
It really can. I can help you explore your relationship patterns and what works in relationships. Then you can discover how to find the relationship you really want.
2. Can counseling really help couples?
It really can. If you're both willing to try. I can help you get what you need and be there for each other. When that happens, you begin to reconnect and heal your relationship.
3. What if he refuses to come, can I come alone?
Yes, you can. I have many who have decided to come alone. And Yes, it can still improve your relationship.
4. Do I have to be married to come to counseling?
No, I see individuals who are dealing all kinds of concerns, relationships can be one of the concerns .
5. How long are your sessions?
My sessions are usually 50 minutes. At times, shorter or longer sessions may be needed.
6. How often do we meet?
We usually meet once a week. If you're going through a really tough time, sometimes, we need more frequent sessions. As things get better, sometimes we meet less often.
7. How long does counseling usually last?
If things are going well, and you just need a little help to get through a rough time, counseling can be pretty brief. If you're struggling with some tougher issues and you want to get to a much better place it might mean more time. It's completely up to you.
8. What does MFT mean?
MFT means Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been working in the field since 2001. I am a Licensed Therapist.
9. Do you have a sliding scale?
I'm sorry, I don't but if you need low-cost counseling, there are several clinics in the area.
10. What is your style of therapy?
My style of therapy is emphatic and respectful of personal values . I primarily utilize both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interactive Talk therapy. Every week I see people who are struggling and suffering from a whole range of emotional problems, anxiety, loneliness, grief over broken relationships, resentment and feeling of inadequacy. There are answers to these problems.
In the course of my own spiritual and professional journey. I have identified specific areas that when cultivated, greatly improve our day-to day functioning.
